Sacred Spaces

Lately I've had to take the time to listen to my mind and body and take things a bit easier. I find I can get so wrapped up in every day duties/preparing for the future/creating daily that when it gets to easy to overlook my needs. So, I've added more greenery to my room, which is the room I like most to relax and heal in...as well as those little things that bring about good energy: healing crystals, plants, homemade creations like this gorgeous feather necklace made by UNDER THE SHADE OF A BONSAI TREE. Her creations are incredibly unique in both make and aesthetic which is why I love her shop so much. I strongly recommend checking it out, especially if you have an appreciation for eccentric, well-made pieces as I do!

Freefall into Spring

Now that the snow is gone, more animals are about and the rain cleanses our earth...there's still that final part of spring that I most look forward to: when the blooms and leaves grow! The grass and the trees still have some warming up to do before they make thier grand green appearance. Thankfully, it's at least warm enough for sweater or kimono weather and spring dresses. This bohemian combination is holds my favourite spring pieces: This crochet kimono, dress and sunglasses from Dresslink. I love the free flow of these items, as well as the mixing of neutral colors and tones...it's the perfect way to transition into spring!

7 Month Bump!

I can't believe we're already in the final stretch of this pregnancy! When I think back to when we first found out we were expecting it feels like almost a lifetime ago, and somehow it simultaniously feels as though time is flying by! There's still much to do before Forest's arrival, but I'm already so anxious for him to join us in the oustide world. Pregnancy is perhaps the most bittersweet experience I've ever had. There's alot of not-so-great aspects: morning/afternoon/night sickness, bed rest, round ligament pain, cramps, not fitting into your old clothes, moving at a much slower pace than usual, etc, etc. But the good definitely outweighs the bad: watching your belly grow, feeling and seeing your baby's movements and kicks, listening to thier heartbeat, having your husband rub your back, buying baby things (because they are the cutest and funnest things to buy), etc. These things and so much more have been a part of this transformative and awe inspiring experience, for which I am truly blessed to have and to be having this adventure with my very best friend and soulmate. We've shared so many exciting adventures together so far, I can't wait to have new ones with our little side-kick!

Treehouse Livin'

When the sun shines its brightest, and the creek water runs steadily providing glorious background music, it's the perfect time to relax outdoors and appreciate the gifts mother nature brings. I am lucky to have the perfect getaway so near to home, where I can relax, meditate or enjoy the company of friends. When Spring makes it known it is here to stay, the world seems to come alive again...people roam outdoors, have adventures and make more of thier time than they do in the winter months. This is very true for myself, the sunshine and warm air motivates me to do more, see more and enjoy more. Lately I've been enjoying this gorgeous lace dress from OASAP and have been pairing it with endless styles of kimonos, cardigans, hats and jewlery. I have found so many ways to wear this versatile piece, which reminds me how fun styling can be!

27 weeks

Today is the first day of my 27th week, also the first day of my third trimester. Forest will be here before we know it and now it's a race to finish everything that needs to be done. A baby shower is part of that. Although we will only be having it at the end of may (almost the end of my pregnancy), I've been trying to plan and prepare as best I can ahead of time. I've been crafting and creating the invites myself, I want it to be very personal, as it is an important day. I can't wait to have all of our family and friends together in one room celebrating the amazing tiny being inside me, and I want to make it as magical as possible. All I need is all the vines and all the doughnuts I can possibly collect and I think we'll be good ;)

You fill my lungs with Sweetness

The time is here...the time when basically NOTHING fits me from my closet anymore. It's a little heart-breaking, but I suppose I will just have to shop for a few things that will fit during my last trimester. This will definitely be my last time wearing this dress until Forest gets here, and I wanted to be sure to wear it one final time on an adventure. I actually love how perfectly the silhouette of this dress ecompases my bump, and I'm a little sad not to have realized this until I won't be able to get more wear out of it. I've owned it for a couple of years now, and actually prefer it on my pregnant body over my pre-pregnancy body, haha. The lace is so subtle and unique, and loose hanging flowers make this dress so dreamy and perfect for spring!
