Dressing for Graduation

When I graduated last April, I didn’t realize how much thought and consideration actually goes into choosing a graduation dress. It must fit under the gown, be comfortable enough to wear throughout a long ceremony and celebration afterwards; and one of the biggest things to look out for is how thick and therefore hot is the dress? Let’s face it, under those heavy graduation gowns we all overheat and become a little uncomfortable, so it’s best to have something to lessen that effect underneath. It’s also a very nerve-wracking day where one wants to look and feel confident and accomplished! Once again millybridalshop.com comes to the rescue with a great selection of beautiful and practical graduation dresses.

This cross shoulder navy number is a classy and practical option. The ruffle in the skirt isn’t too overwhelming, and the dress itself will be sure to keep you cool whilst looking chic and sophisticated. This dress allows for the hair to be either up or down, and I’d pair it with some silver earrings, a subtle bracelet and silver strappy heels to finish it off. A small shoulder bag or clutch would suit this look nicely as well. You will look ready to take on the world!

This is definitely a more vibrant option, but I can’t resist a tulle skirt, especially in a soft violet color! The tulle risks making a bit of a puff under a graduation gown, although you could definitely make it work…and more than that, it’s definitely worth it to wear something so charming! The beaded sweet-heart neckline gives a very elegant touch to the dress, but still allows for a nice necklace! I think an up-do would best suit this dress, with dangling earrings and a subtle shoe. This very feminine dress is one of my favorites!

And finally, this lovely black dress is a more classic option…and you definitely can’t go wrong with that. The fit and flare of the dress makes it remarkably flattering; the straps/neckline adds a certain flirty flare to the dress that is irresistible. I see this dress styled in a vintage fashion with pin curls in the hair, a cute clutch in hand with some wedges for footwear. The great thing about this dress is that it is appropriate outside of graduation as well; its quintessential style can be used to wear for any event!
There are endless more styles to browse through on millybridalshop.com, to help you find the dress in which you will begin your journey into college or the working world!
