the curtain dress

We're nearing the end of Febuary and the weather is getting considerably warmer; much to my liking. On the day these were taken, I really did not need a coat at all, it was so wonderfully mild out. This dress is thick enough too as not to leave me too chilly. I love the unique pattern of this dress...it reminds me of a theater curtain, which is why I wore it to a play Gavin and I went to see the same day. It was a pretty great day!  I am currently on the first day of my reading week and am looking forward to some much needed relaxation. Hopefully a few exciting adventures will present itself this week as well ^.^

cozy days in

Although spring is coming, there are still too many of those freezing days where you will only leave the house when necessary. During these days, I turn up the heat, drink too much hot chocolate and relax by either reading, watching a good film or just spending time with Gavin. As much as I need the down time, I really cannot wait for warmer weather to go adventuring again. Crossing my fingers for an early spring!

Be mine

When I first laid eyes on this dress from modcloth , it was love at first sight. I have literally been on the lookout for years for a really lovely red dress. I was so happy when I saw this one! It reminds me of Annie the musical ^.^ I also thought this would make an absolute perfect Valentines day dress; and I am correct! Not only is the color eye-catching, but the collar is too precious. Although I am working tomorrow, I'm still planning on making it a special day...maybe build a blanket fort, watch old movies and eat heart pizzas! Sounds like a perfect night to me x

Nobody likes you when you're 23

Yesterday was my birthday, I turned 23! I have an odd complex about age and so I don't really look forward to my birthdays anymore, but why not make the best out of getting older? This year to celebrate I was planning on some glow in the dark bowling with some friends...which actually might be postponed because of regular life things getting in the way of my plans. None the less, I will still celebrate in a small way and in a cute outfit ;) I've been so eager for spring/summer that the only things that look appealing to me in my closet are my summer clothes! This outfit for example is very festival/gypsy-like, which I love...although it isn't very appropriate for winter. I'm just waiting for warmer days x

Febuary Wishlist

As it is my birthday month, and we will soon be transitioning into spring; I thought I'd do a little wishlist to share with everyone! Here are some main items that I would like to add to my closet as we transition into the next season (hopefully very soon!)
1. Slouchy Cardigan: I'm really not picky when it comes to cardigans; as long as they are cozy and somewhat baggy, I'm good to go. It is something you can never have too much of and will be useful when sweater weather makes its appearance again.
2. Shapeless floral dress: When getting excited for spring, I find myself gravitating towards florals...nothing groundbreaking, but it helps in getting into the spring spirit! They are also super comfortable and practical for adventuring!
3. Colorful Hats: I put this one in plural because I'd like to start collecting hats with color as I have about a million black ones. I have always had a deep love for hats; I find even the most boring outfits come alive once I place a hat on my head.
4. Chunky cut-out boot: Something I've been eying for a year now, so maybe it's time I buy some? I love the look of a feminine dress paired with a chunky heal.
5.Scallop purse: I've been shopping around for a cute every-day satchel and completely fell in love with this one with the scalloped flap! There are some pastel ones out there that are to die for, but I'd better start with black first ;)
6.Polaroid Camera: Yes, these are making quite the comeback and I'm jumping on the bandwagon. I love the look of old Polaroid photos...they give off a sense of nostalgia for me as I used to have one growing up. They are a fun way to collect memories no matter where you are. And lets face it...I'm addicted to cameras....anything to do with photography really.

Well that's all for now; my birthday is next week followed by Valentines day, so I'm going to try and come up with some fun posts!

Welcome Febuary

Blogging with no computer and freezing weather is even more difficult than I originally assumed it would be; although I am trying my best to update at least once a week. I am so excited for the summer when I will be able to update multiple times a week, as well as share in exciting summer adventures! Well, it is now February (my birthday month), and in my opinion, the best winter month (other than december). It's shorter, there are some distractions such as Valentines day as well as my birthday to keep thoughts of the cold and snow at bay. I have been spending all of my days off just like this; cozy in my room with coffee ^.^
Anywho, some might think a simple black and white outfit to be boring; I believe it is classic. I think the polka-dots add something fun to it as well! Polka-dots have always been my favorite print; I will always be drawn to them it seems. Good thing they never go out of style :P
Oh yea, and I cut my hair :)
